From vacation to bridge

Jay was chosen by his teacher to take part in an enrichment program at school. There are only a select few that are chosen. This program was about bridges.

He would be pulled one time a week to go to this class. To end the class the kids were given a project to make a bridge out of anything they wanted. The only requirement was that it is able to hold the weight of 40 pennies.

Because Jay was out one week because he was sick, he missed getting the assignment. So we got the project late and did not have the opportunity to complete it early.

So once we got home from our trip we had to run around to get the project moving. As luck would have it, we had snow fall the Tuesday after the kid's were off for President's day. But unlucky for Jay, Mom is not a builder of bridges.

So Dad came home from work and helped Jay finish his bridge. Dad did try to have Jay do the bridge but he needed some help and guidance.

I think the bridge ended up turning out pretty good.

Making sure the bridge would hold the 40 pennies.

Jay and Dad so glad to have the project completed.

Jay said there were some pretty elaborate bridges brought in. There was one that was floating in water. We will get to see them at school during the enrichment fair held later on in the year. Should be interesting.
